Negative Space {Charlotte Newborn Fort Mill Baby Photographer}

So here's a little secret for you;)  I didn't always love photographing newborns.  Seriously.  Sessions always lasted what felt like forever and a day, and keeping up with all of the props was a chore in itself.  And to top it off, the images didn't always feel like "me" or suit my style.  I came close to throwing in the towel on newborn sessions, until I decided to take charge of the situation.  I ditched most of the props, built an amazing studio behind my house and changed the way I photographed newborns.  Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing photographers out there that do gorgeous work with colors, props and seriously difficult posing.  For me though, keeping it natural speaks to my inner core, makes me proud of what I do, and fuels my (now) burning passion for photographing these little loves.  THIS is what I would want hang on the walls in my home.  THIS is why I feel so proud and lucky to do what I do.

I do still offer on location newborn sessions, and YES, I do love this lifestyle, documentary photography as well.  These are still some of my favorite images- you just won't see me lugging in a trunk full of stuff to capture them.  Just me, my camera and a smile on my face;)

Simply Newborn {Fort Mill Baby Charlotte Newborn Photographer}

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful baby boy in the studio.  I can't tell you enough how amazing it is to have families in the studio with their new little loves.  There are so many great benefits of having the studio dedicated to just babies- I can prep and plan the sessions before they happen, mom and/or dad get an opportunity to check out and relax during the session as opposed to worrying if their house is clean enough for photos, the lighting is always great, and everything is right at our fingertips!  So if you've had the least bit apprehension, I am here to tell you, sessions at our studio are stress-free and even a treat for you during this important and beautiful time in your lives!  Check out these photos of sweet baby Beau- he was such a pleasure to photograph!

Stretch it out! {Fort Mill Baby Charlotte Newborn Photographer}

This little girl arrived 3 weeks early and we still managed to get amazing shots outside of that 10 day window.  She was so sweet and a doll to work with.  Even if you're afraid that you've missed your opportunity for newborn photos because your little one is over 10 days old, give us a call.  You'd be amazed at how we can still grab great shots!
