Don't you just love when you get to meet genuinely good kind people? These are those people. They were waiting on their new little boy to arrive and I had the honor of capturing this special time for them.

I got to visit this little beauty in her home for her newborn pics. She was perfect and her parents were pretty awesome too! And can we talk about how many cute dogs I get to meet at my sessions?

I truly am honored to get to meet so many sweet little babies in the simply baby studio. Just look at her head of hair! Little A was such a pleasure and I can't wait to see her again soon for her 6 month pics!

So here's a little secret for you;) I didn't always love photographing newborns. Seriously. Sessions always lasted what felt like forever and a day, and keeping up with all of the props was a chore in itself. And to top it off, the images didn't always feel like "me" or suit my style. I came close to throwing in the towel on newborn sessions, until I decided to take charge of the situation. I ditched most of the props, built an amazing studio behind my house and changed the way I photographed newborns. Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing photographers out there that do gorgeous work with colors, props and seriously difficult posing. For me though, keeping it natural speaks to my inner core, makes me proud of what I do, and fuels my (now) burning passion for photographing these little loves. THIS is what I would want hang on the walls in my home. THIS is why I feel so proud and lucky to do what I do.
I do still offer on location newborn sessions, and YES, I do love this lifestyle, documentary photography as well. These are still some of my favorite images- you just won't see me lugging in a trunk full of stuff to capture them. Just me, my camera and a smile on my face;)
